Are My Tires Directional?
posted on
2/8/2017 2:52:48 AM
Q: How can I tell if I have directional tires, and if they are properly mounted and rotated? - Jake A: Hi Jake, If you have directional tires, they will have a rotation arrow on the sidewall. The arrow shows which direction the tires should turn. Unless the tires are dismounted and remounted, directional tires are only meant to be used on one side of the vehicle, and are intended to be rotated from the front to rear axle. Tire rotation should NOT be done if the tires on the front and ...

What if I only get 2 tires?
posted on
2/8/2017 2:43:56 AM
Q: I really need four tires, but I can only afford two this month. If I get just two is it better to have them replace the front tires or the rear tires? - Casey A: Hi Casey, When you buy two tires, it's important to make sure that the new tires are mounted on the rear axle. This will help you mantain control on wet roads. Deeper tread provides better resistance against hydroplaning, and redcues risk of fish tailing. Stop by Tire Pros of Frederick or give us a call at 301-663-6334 if you...

Radiator Importance

Q: Doesn't radiator maintenance only matter in the summer? - Michelle A: Hi Michelle, The short answer is no, it matters all year round! The radiator and the cooling system circulate coolant while you drive in order to regulate the temperature of your vehicle's engine. Over time, coolant loses its effectiveness. This can lead to over heating and other damages if not replaced every 24 months. This is why the coolant system is critical all year round, not just in the summer time. If you ne...

Transmission Fluid
posted on
2/8/2017 2:19:51 AM
Q: What type of transmission fluid am I supposed to use in my car? - Jackie A: Hi Jackie, Different transmisions require different types of transmission fluid. We recommend that you have the fluid changed every 25,000-35,000 miles using a Mighty Transmission Flush as part of your regular maintenance. Using Mighty transmisssion additives adds a third party warranty should anything happen to your transmission. If you would like more information, or would like to schedule an appointment for...

How does my clutch work?
posted on
2/8/2017 2:14:43 AM
Q: How exactly does my clutch work? - Steve A: Hi Steve, Your clutch plays an important part in your vehicle's operation. The clutch pedal is used to activate the clutch. The clutch then engages the flywheel. Once engaged, the flywheel allows the transmission to be shifted from one gear to another. Don't forget, clutches are no different than most other parts in your vehicle - they wear out depending on how carefully they are used while driving! If you would like one of our ASE certified...
